Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need a logo for our band, called Blue Yonder (www.blueyonderhonkytonk.com). From the hills of West Virginia, we play all originally-written songs in the classic country, rockabilly, and folk traditions. Our initial thought is that we want something with a classic mid-20th century look to it that also conveys energy, but also is solid with subtle masculinity. Instead of a classic blue, we would like a blue that has some gray to it, to a sense of strength and simplicity. The examples below are a starting place that I have just done with no design tools. Of the three examples, I like the second one the best, but am very open to other approaches.
