Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

My Name is Mike Smolak and I am in the process of designing an new web site that will highlight gambling activities in the New England states (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine). The site will be called Play New England and will primarily be a directory site for various gaming options available in these states. All of the New England states currently have some sort of Lottery (Powerball, Mega Millions, Lucky for Life games) with most of them also now having Casinos, Poker Rooms and Keno. The site will list gaming locations in these states and also include articles on gambling in the region as well as general gaming information. Our focus will be to work closely with, and highlight, casinos in these states.

Looking for the following from this project:
1) Logo design for the new site.
2) Also would like a square icon that I can use for a phone application component, or even a favicon, that is tied to the logo.

As for design ideas, I do want the logo design to be clear and clean and not too busy and something that indicates excitement and fun.
I have just started planning the site layout looking at various templates but want to be able to display the logo horizontally along the top of the site.
I have not decided on a white or black background for the logo area (however leaning towards clean white). Maybe even provide logo with a transparent background so I can place anywhere on site.
For a color palette I am thinking a mid to dark blue, green and maybe gold/yellow colors.

Anforderungen

Muss haben

• "Play New England" text. Emphasis should be on the word "Play".
• Update 12/20: Seems that the logos so far which include #1 and/or #2 of the "Nice to Haves" below are more desirable. Thx
• Update 12/21: Originally suggested yellow/green/blue but the colors on the color wheel where too light. Those colors are fine (our will leave it open to the designer) but would prefer darker shades if on a white background. Light colors are getting lost. Thx.

Schön zu haben

• 1) Use of the New England states general shape. The shape of the New England states is known in the area and has been used in other business branding. This shape can certainly be incorporated into the logo but would prefer to be incorporated in a creative way as opposed to just the shape and the text next to it. I have included a few examples of other logos that use the shape just for ideas. It is not a total requirement that this shape be used.
• 2) Use of gaming imagery...if images are used they should be tied to gambling games like slots, poker, craps, keno, Powerball and lottery; however, I do not want the imagery in the logo to be restricted to a single type of game as the site will highlight all the various gambling games in the region.
• 3) Site tag line can be part of logo but is not a requirement: "Your Gaming Guide to New England"
