T-Shirt-Design Kurzbeschreibung

I need a logo design for the company Bear 'n Rascal, two dogs with tremendous personalities. I would like their expressions to speak volumes. I would like to launch a product line with Bear 'n Rascal witicisms.
In reality, the two sibling pups that are both black, mostly shephard (to get an idea, a bunch of photos are attached when I adopted them as pups up to now- so you can see what they are like. Playful, swimmers, etc.). Bear has the fluffy hair, Rascal does not.
Even though they are real dogs I need them to be universal (like Scooby or Astro).
I am not sure about color yet. Even though the dogs are black, I am open to the use of different colors.
After the logo is created, my initial product set will be T-shirts, mugs, phone covers, pillows.
The key will be the expression and/or action. It has to resonate humor and pull on the heartstrings, without being too goofy.
