Buchumschlag Design Kurzbeschreibung

I would like the cover to show that the story takes place in China. The city it takes place in is Wuhan, which is by the Yangtze River. The most famous landmark in Wuhan is the Yellow Crane Tower. I would also like the cover to show a sense of mystery, something that will intrigue the readers and make them want to pick the book off the shelf. If you need physical descriptions of the two lead characters, I can send them to you. I will be happy to answer any questions as well. Thank you.

Anforderungen

Schön zu haben

• A sense of mystery. A sense of the case being in China.
• Some background:
• 1) The apartment is inside an old colonial building (see a sample of what it looks like in the attached photo below. It's usually old looking due to a lack of maintenance, giving it a creepy feel. The the old colonial building in the novel is 2 stories, without the attic like in the photo attached).
• 2) The apt is a very small studio apartment.
• 3) The murdered happened 26 years ago. The two Americans are traveling in China and living in that apartment now. And they are trying to solve the case. Sally is the main detective. She is Asian American, young, petite and pretty. I was thinking of having her silhouette on the cover, pondering. (see attached photo below for what I mean) It will give the cover more of a mystery feel.
• 4) I was thinking of having a few Chinese characters on the cover, which can interest readers. If you do decide to go with that, I suggest the following 5 characters (see attached photo). They mean "paper can not hide fire." They appear in the novel and the reader will understand once he/she gets to that part.
• These are not must haves. I have little experience with cover design. But these are things I think will help the reader understand the novel more.
