Grafik-Design Kurzbeschreibung
We have a publisher who will design our book cover for us, but we want an image of Earth more suited to the content of the book. The book is about risk management as a life skill in all walks of life: work; play; travel; adventure; school; internet use; driving; flying etc. The current sample Shutterstock image is close to what we want but has too much cityscape; not enough wide ocean; mountains or forests on the circumference of the Earth. Plus in those landscapes we’d like an image on someone or a few people driving; walking; boating/kayaking; push biking; motor biking; flying; adventuring somehow. The hot air balloons are not wanted. An obvious school image would be good to include with teenagers. Someone using a tablet. A business person doing something like texting while walking toward a pole...all small parts of the globe circumference images... all colour please rather than silhouette. trust that helps.

Thanks for the 2 comments Abdullah. Clarifying the brief: the job is ONLY the image of the Earth. We do not need or want the designer to work on the book cover or offer font options. The picture is the only thing we want with all the elements mentioned in the brief incorporated into the picture. The size of the image needs to be big enough and detailed enough to recognize the people on the planet and what they are doing. Ultimately it will be scaled down to fit a regular book cover; but we’d like to use it blown up in A2 or A1 size.

Good question Luvinda. I think graphic art to suit the Earth graphic rather than photographic images on top of the globe. We’re looking for an integrated image a lot like the one in the sample cover image provided in the brief.

- Must be able to sit on the sample book cover design page as shown. That is, a circular Earth floating in a light blue sky. Daytime everywhere I guess; but not stuck on that...
- The Earth image needs lots of ocean and since it’s an Australian book the land masses want to include Australia and New Zealand; preferably not Africa or the Americas... the roundness (circle) of the planet needs to be evident - the images around the globe need to be similar sizes / proportions to the Earth as the sample image; not too big and standing way out from the Earth's shape.
- There need to be people visible doing the activities. The must have activities are:
- - driving a car
- - adventure travel
- - school with children/teenagers visible
- - internet/computer/smartphone image(s) - e.g. someone holding and looking at a tablet or smartphone - or walking with one even better
- - people working
- - people having a conversation (can also be eating at a table)
- - people exercising / playing sport
