I really like where you're going with this. Has a very clean look that I want. A couple things that I would change:
*If possible maybe more interaction between the male and female as far the bars go. Reference some of the examples in the brief. I particularly like the example with the stick figures where the one figure is pulling the bar up with a rope.(or whatever it maybe)
*Also I like the orientation of the text but I would like to see various examples of font styles incorporated into the logo if possible.

so far this is my favorite design.
