Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

I am seeking ideas/concepts for a logo for a reading programme developed by the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. The reading programme is for children aged 4-6 years old, but the logo should appeal to teachers and parents, and not be too childish. I would like to see designs that provide a few options for integrating the logo of the university (attached), and a stand alone version of the logo for the reading programme. Sometimes we may want to use the university logo, and sometimes we may not - so concepts should include both options. The ideal logo would be limited in colour (no more than 3), clean, simple, and incorporate elements of Māori imagery - for example a koru (fern head, symbolising growth). Alternatively, the symbolism of a pathway could be incorporated. A few options would be ideal, as the final logo will need to be approved by my research team. The main text should say: Better Start Literacy Approach, and the minor text should say: Te Ara Reo Matatini. The final logo should communicate growth, development, being on a pathway to learning success.
