Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need a logo designed for a new company that is based out of the NYC metro area. We are called OpenSourceIT and we develop our own innovative methods of monitoring and managing IT systems that save clients money. We would like to see blue as the primary color mixed with green and some white. The final design should communicate quality, reliable services. We would like modern font design and the use of a globe as depicted in the attached image, but maybe so it looks a little more like a connected Earth. We added a sample logo below. Please review and have fun with it, give it your own design. Does not have to be the same thing as below. I attached a logo below that was used for a previous company of mine. We like the color gradient in the text.
