Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We are a home builder/developer. We need a logo for our 37 townhouse project in Welland ON Can. This will be on the signage for the project. This is an old public school site. I have included a photo of the old school in case that provides inspiration for the logo. The feel of the logo should be modern but have the heritage of the school site represented. The word "Broadway" refers to the main street name of where the site is located.
The "Lane" is the design of the community- the townhouses all face the streets with the rear lane access to the units.
I have attached a picture of the project below- NOTE- the look of these new houses are not the same that will be built, so please do not incorporate that into the logo.

• Need to be easy to read from a distance
  Earth tone/natural colours

Schön zu haben

• I would like the logo to have a "cast iron/metal sign" inspiration?
  Not a must....looking forward to seeing what people are inspired by.

Sollte nicht haben

• Can not be too abstract because it identifies homes and I want people to be able read sign easily. Be brightly coloured.
