Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung
We are a financial planning business. Financial planning is about developing strategies to help someone manage their financial affairs and meet their life goals. For example, we might recommend life insurance or other insurance to protect a person’s financial position for the “just in case”, or we might manage someone’s investments to build wealth for retirement or other goals. We also assist with budgeting, and advise on tax and debt/loans, superannuation (401k) etc. Our ultimate goal is to get a person’s “financial house” in order and maximise their financial position, taking advantage of available opportunities and protecting and adjusting to financial threats…all to achieve the life the person wants.
We have six employees in our business, all in our late 30’s and 40’s. Although we wish to appear a professional business, we want clients to feel comfortable and relaxed when with us. Talking about their finances can be daunting for many people, so together with clients we like to chat freely, have a laugh when appropriate, but also acknowledge financial conversations and life transitions (eg. death of a family member, divorce, aged care, etc) can be difficult times, of which we want to be a support.
We find that most people want to improve their situation and hope for a better future, of which money can usually assist. As such, people often come to us a request a “plan for the future”. In and around that plan, are life events and transitions – eg. clients wanting to start a business, or grow their family (kids), may include divorce, death of a loved one, holidays, house purchase, aged care etc. So even though the long-term financial plan is the guiding force, life does often dictate twists and turns…and we assist navigate those turns and keep on track for the long-term plan, or adjust as required.
We predominantly help people in the following three categories:
Those aged late 20s and 30s, starting out. We’ll focus on creating a strong “financial foundation”, addressing need in cashflow, debt, estate planning, insurance and superannuation (401k).
Those aged late 30s to mid-50s, who are now past the foundational stage and building their wealth for the future.
And those approaching, entering, and in retirement (age 55+), considering managing their money in a safe way to provide income, minimise tax, and take advantage of social security benefits.
We predominantly target the “upper middle class” in professional white collar jobs – eg. small business owners, managers, office workers, etc.
Given the people we assist, we “market”/”advertise” three “advice packages”:
“Foundations”, for those starting out or those who need to get their financial foundations in order. We may develop more cash flow solutions in this area – eg. managing income and expense day to day.
“Million Dollar Method” (M$M) has the tagline, “create at least $1 million extra wealth over the next 10-15 years”. This is for those earning good income and keen to build wealth to become financially independent.
“Countdown to Retirement” and “Retire in Style”, for those approaching and entering retirement, considering retirement income, social security etc.
The above ties into a concept of the “Wealth Pyramid”, which we want to develop and use to initially engage with clients. The first level, the lower level…is the foundation, and addresses Cashflow, Debt, Insurance, Estate Planning. The second level of the pyramid is for those building wealth – ie. Investments. And the third upper level of the pyramid is Income, for those transitioning from building wealth to consolidating, protecting, and moving to their assets providing income for living…and the top level of the pyramid is financial freedom…having a “work-optional” lifestyle.
Although the following video has nothing to do with us, it does somewhat encapsulate the outcomes of what we’re trying to achieve with clients – ie. the intangibles, the feelings, the outcomes – that financial planning is more than just the money. View https://youtu.be/TrWd2psBpE8 (as stated, the video has nothing to do with us)
We also have three primary roles of:
Life planner/coach – determining what the client wants to achieve
Financial planner – developing srategies to achieve the goals
Solutions provider – sourcing appropriate products to achieve the goals
How we engage with clients:
We advise – providing answers and solutions to all your money “problems”
We guide – providing direction and confidence for your future to see your goals achieved
We educate - providing clarity and understanding around complex issues
What clients want from us:
Know me
Know my family
Understand me
Help me
Simplify me
Declutter me
Reduce my anxiety
Some “taglines” we may use to describe what we do – ie. our “elevator pitch”. Not to be included with the logo.
Build, protect and enjoy wealth.
Build the life you love.
As for the design of the logo, we are not fixed on colours…but perhaps have a preference is blues which are apparently the most common colours for financial services companies.
“Blue seems to be the winning color, as it shows up in 33% of the top 100 brands. Red comes second by showing up in 29% of the brands, and black or greyscale make the third most popular choice with 28%. Finally, 13% use yellow or gold. What’s interesting is that 95% of the top 100 brands only use one or two colors. This can be explained as an attempt to maintain consistency by staying simple in their branding.
“Blue color code: trustworthy, dependable, secure, responsible, confident
Green color code: Wealth, health, prestige, serenity, generosity, safety”
We have also provided an attachment of logos we like the look of – eg. modern, clean, progressive…but conservative and professional. But we’d love for you to suggest whatever you think is appropriate, even if very different.
