Grafik-Design Kurzbeschreibung
Hi :) My name is Kepa, I am a Corneal Surgeon and also a Pain perception researcher. I am looking to design my own version of a "Faces Pain Scale". Faces Pain Scale is something we use for allowing patients to rate their level of pain. Instead of using numbers, they are a number of faces that go from "no pain" to "worst pain possible", but without the words; it should just be understandable by the faces.
The two standardized and published scales are what I've uploaded as "Faces 1" and "Faces 2". Those are the standard, and I want to build something better than them. I have uploaded two 'non-official' versions I really really like, named "Body Language" and "Finn Faces".
Let me tell you what I need and how I want it. I need a total of six faces. The first one needs to be happy (as it represents no pain at all), the second one needs to be kind of neutral (as someone with a rather small amount of pain, think a 2 out of 10), and the other four faces need to get incrementally "more in pain" until the last one represents "the worst pain a human being can feel", so to speak. Actually, I love the fact that "Body Language" also includes the patient's body language, not just the face. That is something I do want in my scale, to have body language (hands or something) represented in a way. So it does not need to be only the face, you can also include the hands or whatever you think may fit.
I like it to have colors; I really like the progression of colors in the "Finn Faces". Nevertheless, the scale need to be "not related no any race", so the skin can't be white... It needs to be a "standard" color... Maybe yellow like in The Simpsons or something.
The drawings need to be neither male nor female. They can't be "race linked" (can't be recognizable as black, white, asian, latin). Although I like color, they need to be able to be easily printable and interpretable in black and white as most of the time, for research studies, they will be photocopied. I would like to have two versions, one in color and one in black and white.
I don't want it to be too serious. I actually like the kind-of-funny feeling to both the "Body Language" and "Finn Faces". I want something along those lines. Not something as serious as the "Faces 1" and "Faces 2". I love the spirit of "Body Language", please get a good feeling of that.
All six drawings need to be side by side in a single line, at equal distance from one another. Sizes and distance should be along the lines of "Faces 2".
On top of the drawings should be a title that says "Balparda-Herrera Faces Pain Rating Scale".
Guess that'd be all. Please let me know if you need any more information.
