3D Design Kurzbeschreibung

nature2need develops and manufactures biopolymer compounds and solutions.

For our Mottainai Coffee Series we need a 3D design for a coffee mug that can serve as a coffee-to-go mug as well as a coffee mug used at home, in cafes, hotels, etc. - the mug will be injection molded with advanced biopolymer compound materials; a patented, environmentally friendly material.

The mug and cover shall have an elegant and versatile design. No logo or artwork is required. We are looking for the 3D design of the mug and the cover: modern, elegant, sleek! Please make sure mug and cover can be injection molded (no undercut, draft angle of 3°).

The cover shall be simple. Just a cover, no mechanism. Very much like the attached wooden cover.

The mug shall go without sleeve (e.g. in cafes and hotels) but shall be designed in a way that a sleeve can be used for individual use as well and as needed.

More details in attached file. The shown mug and wooden cover shall inspire you ... that is a design I like. Propose something better.

The sleeve is not part of the design contest. Please design only the mug and the cover. Please follow the dimension instructions. Please follow standard injection molding design rules for thermoplastics / filled thermoplastics.

  • capacity 350 ml - 355 ml (12 oz)
  • height 125 mm – 132 mm
  • wall-thickness: down 3.0 mm, gradually reducing to 2.8 mm up
  • diameter outer: up 85 mm
  • injection molding draft angle of minimum 3°
  
  The mug needs to be reasonably stackable (at least 2/3 of the height)!
