Illustration-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We are a coffee company and we need a background vector illustration for one of our coffee bags. We already have nine bags with a very distinctive style, so we need the new bag to fit in with these. They need to look like a set. Please find the current designs attached.

You'll see that the existing bags each have an illustration with a central character to match the coffee names. The new bag will be similar but we'll be placing a 3" x 5" text label in the middle of the bag, so the illustration needs to accommodate this.

For the character, we'd like a woman picking coffee cherries to be appearing over the top of the label. For inspiration please do a Google image search for the term "woman picking coffee cherries". This should provide you with plenty of guidance. The sides and lower portion of the coffee bag can be anything you can think of - you may want to consider a pattern or texture based on coffee trees, but please don't feel limited to this.

The illustration must only include our brand colours (see Brand Colour Guide). We have five primary colours (blue, green, red, grey and black) but we want the blue, green and red to be dominant. There are two secondary palettes with lighter and darker shades of the main colours if you need them. Please refer to the use of colour on our existing bags as a guide.

The physical bag measures 5" wide by 9.25" tall and all artwork requires a bleed area of 0.125". Our logo is at the top so the illustration needs to accommodate this also. I've included a multi-layered PDF to use as a guide (template.pdf). I've also attached a sample design (sample.jpg) showing one example of a finished design to give you an idea of what we're aiming for.

Whatever you decide, the most important thing is that you try to emulate the illustrative style of the existing bag designs. This is very important. We are always adding new products to our range so there's a lot of potential for more work in the future if we can find the right artist.

The bag will have a gradient background, starting with either blue, green or red at the bottom and fading to black at the top. I've included all three in the layered PDF - you can work with whichever one you choose.

Please note, we don't need the whole coffee bag design, neither do we need the label design, we ONLY require the character and background illustration in vector format so we can add it to the bag. The area your illustration will cover is shown by the magenta lines in the template file. Files need to be compatible with either Affinity Designer or Adobe Illustrator CS5 and in CMYK format. It would be nice to have a little flexibility in how we position the final illustration, so if you'd like to work with a canvas larger than the designated area, that's fine.
