Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

I would like to take our existing logo and modify it for a new division in our company called "Product Finishing". I would like to keep most of the colors and parts of the design - enough of the design that you could glance at both logos side by side and get the notion that they are related companies. I have never been completely happy with our current logo - I think its unbalanced and some people look at it and think it says PRINTING instead of PAINTING. I do like the blue and grey colors but Im open to additional or new colors. Our current company is called Commercial Painting Inc and we have used the same logo for 31 years so I don't want to scrap it, but I do want to change it and then once its changed I would like to create CPI Product Finishing logo that is similar but not exactly the same.
