Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

I need a logo for my company: Mentoring Plus. I have been working with mentoring startups for almost 20 years and now I'm starting my own mentoring business as a subcontractor to a number of big Danish and European business and startup accelerators. The Focus inside mentoring is on Startup, Growth, Commercialization of technology, investments and sales.
I thought of a logo with just letters saying "Mentoring+" but the "+" ends up looking like a pharmacy, doctor or a Cristian religious cross :-( So what to do?
My initial though was to use the Mentoring+ together with different focus areas or disciplines ... so in a presentation or on web it would say Mentoring+ SALES and Mentoring+ HR and so on.
Another idea was to use a calculator look button for the "+".
I do not want a logo that is trying to look like and old pretentious corporate.
