Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

I have an existing logo (for globe-trotting annual golf tournament started 20 years ago). I can't decide if I want this "conquistador helmet" logo simply tweaked, or whether to go with a new logo altogether that is more textual in nature. We use this logo on stationary; scoreboards; golf apparel. The alternative idea is simply playing around with the words "Ponce de Leon" or letters "PDL" in a more monogrammed way. I will include a simple iconic text of another golf club, with date of its founding...as inspiration for this alternative text-only logo. If we stuck with a design logo (and not text only), I would be open to a headshot drawing of Ponce de Leon, the explorer, himself, or possibly the Fountain of Youth. There could be something with crossing an old Spanish sword with a golf club too. But it needs to look classic / not cheesy. Ideally, I could get a wordmark (very similar font and text as the MID PINES sample); and also a design mark...whether we tweak the helmet or go with something fresh.

• I am torn as to whether continue with a revised version of the (attached) conquistador helmet; or whether to alternatively go for a monogram type look of "PDL" or "PdL" or "Ponce de Leon" in full text.

Schön zu haben

• Typically we have used navy blue as our core coloring. I am also attracted to a navy blue / powder blue combination in some way.
