Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

A logo for a scientific research laboratory - run by professor Thora Karadottir. The lab focuses on myelin plasticity and regeneration in the brain. We try to understand mechanisms that regulate myelin plasticity and regeneration in the central nervous system. More importantly we are looking how myelin is involved with neuronal circuit function. How it regulates how neurons communicate. We have shown that myelin is needed for learning and memory consolidation. We find that when myelin is lost in disease it can cause cognitive decline. We also have identified mechanism of how to promote myelin regeneration in disease like MS.
Therefore, we are looking at how myelin is formed, maintained and regenerated in the central nervous system, and functional implication for how the brain works and how it can heal itself after injury.

For a logo it would be good to have something that ties myelin with brain (neuronal) circuit functions - or how myelin connects different brain areas together functionally
