I updated the brief to hopefully explain the Ideas a bit better.

I updated the brief with more pictures of skies to give more ideas. It doesn't just have to be night and day It can be a mystical or trippy looking sky. I also posted a better quality of the Greenites letters to show what I'm aiming for. The letters should be done this way with slightly thicker yellow outline and the G and I slightly bigger and also Riffstacat can be done in a cursive font with R and C slightly larger. I updated the project description there as well.

I would prefer an illustration but a photo composition can possibly work if done well.

Hi there! I just submitted my work for this contest. The artwork is all original, composed & rendered in 3D and then touched up in post. I thought this was the best method to bring together the elements you were suggesting and I think I touched on elegant and playful with the exaggerated scaling and styling decisions. I submitted a revision which addressed your comments, but I also wanted to mention that I recreated the Greenites text from the aforementioned album in Illustrator and so have the vector file set up for that which I would be happy to provide post contest for you to use on albums going forward as a kind of logo regardless of outcome, assuming that's the purpose it would serve.
