Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need a logo for our Civil Engineering Collective. We are a collective of small companies that are professional consultants, surveyors, planners, engineers etc operating under a single umbrella We are involved in Land Development ie roads, earthworks, subdivision. The business is called DevCol which is short for "the Land Development Collective". Our aim is operate different from big companies, to be efficiently and add value.
We need a logo that is simple and looks good in the title block of a construction plan. Also a full version with the logo and "the land development collective" to one side that could be used in other areas. We do not have any specific idea on the logo so are open to all suggestions. "devcol" text could be all lower case - or mixed case ie "DevCol"
