Dr. Bardwell would like to have this attached image enhanced with your creative expertise while maintaining a good scientific image. This is an urgent project that we would like to award by July 12, 2023. The image is for the cover of a scientific journal and needs a very formal professional look.
Aktualisierungen
Here is a bit more of an explanation about the project that the image goes with from the primary researcher.
We would like a design for the cover page of a scientific journal. In our study we worked to improve the rate of reaction of a protein (named NicA2) with oxygen, and this cover is supposed to be a representation of this work. See our initial version of the design attached on Wed July 5. Currently, it shows the protein we work with in the bottom right-hand corner. I have attempted to show molecules of oxygen (the red, double-sphere looking objects) being funneled into the active site by their positions and using the red overlay trace with gradient effect. If there is a way to make this clearer, or more visually striking, we would appreciate any effort that you make.
Alternatively, if you have a different idea as to how this can be represented graphically I would be happy to consider a new, or heavily altered design. The essential components are that we have our protein that has been engineered to react more rapidly with oxygen. So, anything that shows improvement in reaction with oxygen or oxygen moving rapidly into the protein should be appropriate. Colors for this graphic are flexible, though by convention oxygen is usually rendered in a shade of red.
The specifications of the journal are as follows:
As you prepare your final files, we encourage you to consider whether you have images or illustrations that may be appropriate for use on the cover of Nature Chemical Biology. Covers should be both aesthetically appealing and scientifically relevant. We generally do not select images featuring faces, children, text, graphs, schematic drawings, or collages on our covers.
We accept TIFF, JPEG, PNG or PSD file formats (a layered PSD file would be ideal), and the image should be at least 300ppi resolution (preferably 600-1200 ppi), in CMYK color mode, and should be supplied at the best image quality available.
If your image is selected, we may also use it on the journal website as a banner image, and may need to make artistic alterations to fit our journal style. Please submit your suggestions, clearly labeled, along with your final files. We’ll be in touch if more information is needed.
Please note that the attached .ai file is already appropriately sized for the requirements of the cover.
