Do you mean the following:
1. Instead of MCG you wanted EMF but the style of lettering be similar to the sample MCG?
2. The basic key elements in the designs are, company initial, leaf or nature representation, city skyline and it is up to us how these elements would be combined into an icon.. is this accurate?

They do want text in full East Melbourne Finance (not EMF)
The garden, MCG, City skyline was more what they want to incorporate into the logo some how.
to answer 1 and 2
1. we can use this as 1 design for the font - as they don't want any abbreviations.
Eg they want East Melbourne Finance in full
2. you are correct. these are elements they are looking for.
