Grafik-Design Kurzbeschreibung
I require a standout book cover designed (front page, spine, back page) for an historical textbook set in the North West of Western Australia during the period from 1880 through to 1925 and beyond.
The book is titled "Iron Road - The Story of the Roebourne-Cossack-Point Samson Tramway."
The book is titled 'Iron Road' because one of the early politicians responsible for the tramway, and its maintenance, referred to the tramway as an Iron Road. He believed the tramway was more reliable and offered better value than spending limited public funding on maintaining the road between Roebourne and Cossack.
Book size is 240x175mm.

Further information regarding the Tramway.
The first tramway in my book was a horse drawn tram using a narrow-gauge railway which ran between Roebourne (inland) and Cossack (a port), a distance of around 13 kilometres. The tramway was built in 1887 using government funding and was the first tramway constructed in the North West of Western Australia. The line catered for passengers who were transported in a single carriage (believe it or not, it had both first-class and second-class seating) and it was drawn by a single horse controlled by a driver. In addition, passenger cargo and freight, including wool bales and copper ore, were hauled between the two towns at different times of the day using two to four horses and several open wagons.
The horse drawn tramway operated from 1887 through to 1912. The line was closed in 1912 and only ever catered for the horse drawn tramway.
In 1910, a new narrow-gauge tramway was constructed between Roebourne and Point Samson (a port 19 kilometres from Roebourne). This line catered for two small coal driven 10-ton steam locomotives. They were German in design being built by Orenstein and Koppel. Two locomotives used the line, and it ran from 1910 through to 1925. Unfortunately, the line and the jetty at Point Samson were destroyed by a willy-willy (hurricane or cyclone) in 1925.
I have old black and white photos to be included in my book of the horse drawn tram (its carriages were constructed in the UK and shipped to Cossack) and the steam locomotive if images or drawings are to be incorporated into the front cover of the book. If required I can post these to a designer.

Schön zu haben
- I just want something that will catch the eye of the reader but is a fair representation of what the story is about.
Sollte nicht haben
- The book is called Iron Road but it is a metaphor for the railway. So maybe a railway included but not a road. Apologies for not making this clear.
