Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

My wife and I are veterinarians opening a small/exotic animal practice in Illinois. We're nerds for bugs and our native plant life, and chose the name Monarch because we raise butterflies and their plants every summer. We want to communicate 'friendliness, warmth, and care for all stages of life.'
I will upload a logo I started myself, but we need help with making it more 'professional' and clean looking.
I drew the butterfly, and created the paw print in its wing. I like the idea of the 'abstract blob' in which the butterfly and text are sitting, and we really like the font, or something similar, but we don't know what the font is called.
We would like the 'Veterinary Clinic' letters to be larger/more prominent than Monarch so these will stand out on signage. You will see in the uploaded file that the text is inside a black rectangle, but this is only because I'm not graphically skilled enough to blend it in.
Also, we are open to different colors for the 'blob' - my wife suggested sage or forest green, but use your imagination. I am not married to my drawing of the butterfly, so any modifications, interpretations, or complete overhauls are welcome - I would like the paw print or something like it in the wing, to keep the veterinary theme tied in. If you can think of anything that might hint that we see birds, reptiles, rodents, all the better.
