Hello Designers. Your quick responses are very appreciated, I was not prepared for so many submissions so fast. For quick feedback, literal pipelines, and literal whales isn’t what we are looking for…. A suggestion, of an Orca, might be very cool, but anything drawn like a pipe or a whale in a pipe or flanges is not going to be selected. Possibly using the curves of the “O” to have something to do with an Orca might be cool, but I will spend the next 20-30 minutes providing feedback on all the designs.

We have received a lot of responses over the night, so as feedback for the group
1. Ultimately we are looking for a great looking name and a graphic that could be used without the name and be recognized as our company. It also give us the ability to use the combinations of the name and the graphic in different ways. So the winner will receive additional paid request for variances of their design.
2. No literal whales. If you have a picture of a whale in your design, that is not what we are looking for. The names of the founders of our company, just happen to spell ORCA…. We could have been CARO, or RACO…. We chose ORCA b/c they are strong, smart and have strong family values, but whales and pipelines don’t mix well. The designs with a fin or something that suggests an Orca are strong. But should just be inspiration not a literal drawn whale.
3. I’m going to use strong language to get my point across. “We hate the lines drawn like pipes connected with flanges”. I don’t like using language like that b/c a few of the designs are great if we just removed the flanges or the valve. Spigots and similar items like valves or gears are just as bad. Companies like Energy Transfer, or Enterprise products, are similar in type and have a graphic that they use interchangeably with their name. We would really like the same.
4. Colors - No red and black, no orange those colors have taken away from some designs. No reason other than we just don’t like how it looks on the wall etc.
There are sooooo many designs I hope that all of you will read this to know why certain designs have been deleted.
