The only thing I can think of — and I’ve just come up with this idea now, so it’s not in the original brief — is that one of the images I’ve attached shows an octopus hugging the Earth, which is why it only has eight tentacles. I was thinking if you decide to create something similar to this image it would be a squid which has ten tentacles. The idea would be for the squid to be holding the Earth with its tentacles, and since GiddySquid is exactly ten letters, you could incorporate one letter of the name onto each tentacle — making the brand name part of the design in a really fun and creative way.
Just an idea!

Thank you so much for the designs you’ve sent over – your work is genuinely brilliant, and I really appreciate the creativity and effort that’s gone into them. That said, I wanted to be honest and let you know that the current direction isn’t quite in line with the feel I’m going for on this project.

This collection is all about sustainability and a strong care-for-the-planet ethos. So I’m really after a simplified, more organic logo that reflects that tone. One idea I’d love to explore is a beautiful Earth being hugged gently by a squid – something soft, loving, and characterful, with the squid’s eyes closed to show affection and care for the planet.

In terms of typography, I’m imagining something more childlike and flowing – a little whimsical but still clean. For example, with the name Giddy Squid, I’d love to see swirly, playful letters – maybe the “G” and “S” with a bit of curl and movement – and for the “i”s to have small hearts as the dots to bring in a sense of charm and warmth.

I also want to make sure the logo works both as a full design and as a stand-alone icon. I’ll be using the squid and Earth symbol (without text) as a stamp on the front of each swimsuit, and as a small detail on the back of the boys’ swim shorts. So it’s important the illustration holds its own as a simplified mark too.

I hope that gives a clearer picture of the direction I’m looking for, and I’d be excited to see how you might bring this to life. Thanks again for all your great work so far!
