Project Description:

We’re seeking a talented designer to create an A4 print-ready product guide for Harrison’s Hardware – a premium Australian woodworking supply store. This isn't just a catalog — it’s a thoughtfully designed reference tool for woodworkers, makers, and professionals.

The guide will be a tactile, engaging way for customers to browse our product range, discover feature items, and feel inspired to create.

Scope:

Approximately 70 pages

Each page will feature between 1–20 products, depending on layout

Include feature pages that highlight select products (1 per major category) with bold, editorial-style treatment

Coloured category index or tabs for easy navigation between product groups

Designed primarily for print (A4), with potential for use in digital form (e.g. PDF or flipbook)

Design Style:

Warm, functional, and clean – combining elegance with real-world utility

Fonts: Lobster 2 can be used sparingly (for headings or flourishes); body copy must be legible and modern

Colour palette includes neutrals, our signature bronze (#CB7B2B), and deep navy

Visual hierarchy is key – strong use of photography, whitespace, and consistent spacing

Balance of dense product layouts and open, feature spreads to maintain reader interest

What We’ll Provide:

Our Shopify product export spreadsheet with:

Product names, descriptions, SKUs, prices

Direct links to image files

Category information for grouping

Brand assets (logo, colours, type guidance)

Product photos (hosted or file links)

Example flyers and marketing tone references

Deliverables:

Editable layout file (preferably InDesign or Affinity Publisher)

Print-ready PDF (A4 format with bleed)

Template or system that allows easy future updates

Clear instructions or included licenses for any non-standard fonts or assets used

Ideal Designer:

Experienced in catalog, brochure, or publication design

Understands how to work with spreadsheets and image links and mail merging data into your layout.

Has strong layout, typography, and visual organization skills

Bonus: Familiarity with woodworking, tools, or trade-related design

We initially ask you to provide a sample or mock of a catalog for us, perhaps using some products you've found on our website. If you can provide 2-3 pages with different layouts, ie feature product, then a listing with a product of multiple options, and then one with 20 individual products.
