Updated Logo Direction for Cobbossee Coffee and Provisions
Hi Designers,
??Thank you for the thoughtful submissions so far. I appreciate the creative energy that’s gone into capturing the feel of Cobbossee Coffee and Provisions. After reviewing, I’d like to shift the design direction from a landscape-style logo toward something more symbolic, timeless, and emblematic — inspired by vintage marks with a clean, modern presentation.??A helpful visual reference is the circular logo for Time Market (Tucson, AZ) - attached to brief. Please ignore the multi colored outer Ring as it was taken from a profile photo from Instagram.?
Updated Logo Brief
Format: Circular badge-style logo
Center Symbol:
- A compass rose or starburst as the core design.?- In the very center of the compass, I’d like to explore a stream swirl motif — something minimal and abstract, such as a spiral or curved line — symbolizing the Cobbossee Stream and the natural flow of time and place.?
Surrounding Decorative Elements:
- Include stylized wavy or radiating lines around or behind the compass/star emblem to suggest movement, water, and energy — ideally subtle and clean, not overly detailed.?- At the 3 o’clock position, place a small sun icon.?- At the 9 o’clock position, place a small moon icon.? - These elements represent balance, daily rhythm, and time.?
Text:
- COBBOSSEE — at the top outer curve, in bold serif or vintage-inspired type?- COFFEE AND PROVISIONS — at the bottom outer curve?- GARDINER, MAINE — curved along the upper inner circle?- SINCE 2025 — curved along the lower inner circle?
Style Goals:
- Vintage-inspired with modern clarity — should feel at home on signage, packaging, stamps, and apparel.?- Typography should be strong, clean, and legible (preferably serif or slab serif).?- Begin with a monochrome or two-tone palette (e.g., dark green and cream, or black and tan) — we can explore color once the form is locked in.?
Please let me know if you’re able to revise or create a new submission in this refined style direction. I’m excited to see what you come up with!??
Thanks so much,?
