Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

I own a company in the Horizontal Directional Drilling(HDD) industry, in which we set up a drill and create a hole under rivers, highways, towns, sensitive wildlife areas or whatever to avoid disturbing the surface habitat. To do this job, there needs to be someone who is able to know where that drill bit is underground, and to direct it in such a way that it comes out on the other side of the river/highway etc at the pre-determined location. This job is commonly called a "Steerhand" or "Guidance Technician". That is where I come in. So my job is to use trigonometry, circle geometry such as radius calculation, build rates, arc length, segment lengths, etc to determine where we need to go next. As far as where we are currently in the ground, thats where the calculus and vectors applies to triangulate its position in the earth.

If you made it this far, im assuming youre somewhat of a math nerd also. But ill say it anyway - the pun in the name being that XYZ (x,y,z) is a point in space, or the axis of a cartesian plane. Very relevant to my job.

I dont have any hard guidelines for my project, however I do eventually want to put a small version my logo on the front "breast pocket" of your typical work shirts. So I dont want such fine detail thats its lost on a smaller logo. I was thinking some thing fairly simple. Maybe a 3-dimension axis with an origin point ( see Cartesian Plane screenshot) and some way to incorporate a drill string/bit(See drill string/bit attachment) starting at that point and shooting out towards the observer or something as seen in the drill string photo below. Please note in that scenario i would like it flipped so the drill was going from left to right in the point of view as thats the common presentation of the hole, and i have attached a "Tricone Bit" for reference as i prefer that look to the one displayed in the original picture.

These are just rough things i maybe thought of and am not set on anything. very open to your creativity.

On the note about the shirt logo, maybe having one logo with the company name for larger things or back of sweater or something, and one thats good for the from of shirts or shrunken down for a hat or something.

Would maybe like it to have a saying or something, like "Your first point to success" or "Excellence from point to point" or something like that making reference to the name and job and what not.
