1. Business Overview
Company Name: Lone Star Brazilian Bites (dba O Rei do Salgado)
Tagline: Brazilian snacks with a Texas twist
Industry: Food & Beverage / Artisanal Snacks
The Hook: We specialize in traditional Brazilian salgados (savory snacks), specifically the coxinha. We also offer other traditional Brazilian flavors (bolinhas de carne, bolinhos de queijo and risoles). In addition, we want to develop a line of snacks with a unique Texas twist. Our brand represents a fusion of South American artisanal culinary tradition in Brazil and Lone Star State pride.
2. Design Goals & Style
We are looking for a logo that feels energetic, flavorful, and welcoming. It should communicate "Authentic Brazil" meets "Deep Heart of Texas."
• Primary Elements: We want to see a creative integration of the Coxinha shape (teardrop) with Texas iconography. The logo should ideally incorporate symbols from both cultures.
• Iconography Ideas: *
o The Texas Lone Star or a silhouette of a Longhorn.
o The iconic teardrop shape of a coxinha.
o A coxinha with a Lone Star embossed on it.
o A longhorn whose horns frame a coxinha, or a coxinha wearing a cowboy hat.
o Subtle nods to Bluebonnets or the Brazilian Globe (from the flag).
• Target Audience:
o Brazilians in Texas: Looking for a taste of home.
o Adventurous Americans: Looking for the next great "BBQ-adjacent" snack. The logo must look professional, appetizing, and culturally blended.
• Style Preference: Versatile enough for food truck signage, packaging stickers, and social media icons. We are open to "Vintage Badge" styles or "Modern Minimalist" icons.
• Additional notes:
o Lone Star Brazilian Bites: We want to make this the "Consumer Facing" brand. Use it on the food packaging, the main website, and at festivals, a food truck and other places people will see it first. It explains exactly what the customer is getting.
o O Rei do Salgado: The idea we have is to use this as a "Seal of Authenticity." For example, we could have a smaller, secondary logo—perhaps a simple, elegant stamp or crest—that says, "by O Rei do Salgado." This tells our Brazilian customers that despite the Texas flavors, the technique is authentic. (this is a separate project but having it in mind as the first/main logo is designed could help with creativity).
3. Color Palette
We want a vibrant fusion of the two flags:
• Brazil: Green and Yellow.
• Texas: Red, White, and Blue.
• Designer Note: The challenge is to balance these five colors without clashing. We suggest using one or two as primary and the others as accents to keep the design clean.
4. Typography
•
• Style: We are open to "Badge" style logos (circular or shield-shaped) which work great for food packaging and stickers. Other styles could also work
