Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We're looking to refresh — not reinvent — the brand of Colon Gym, a beloved local institution with a long history as both a classic gym and a kung-fu school. Think the spirit of Gold's Gym, but with martial arts heritage baked in.
The goal is to modernize while preserving identity. The current logo is part of who we are, so we're not starting from scratch — we want it to feel fresh, scalable, and ready for modern use cases, while staying true to its old-school roots.

Required text:
The logo must include ESCUELA DE ARTE MARCIAL COLON GYM. COLON GYM is the center piece of the logo, ESCUELA DE ARTE MARCIAL can be a tagline, or something, it just needs to be secondary.
Layout is flexible, but COLON GYM must always be the visual centerpiece — prominent and unmistakable.
Martial arts identity:
The essence of this gym is Shaolin kung-fu, and we'd love to see that reflected in the visual direction. A Chinese-inspired aesthetic — whether through iconography, typographic treatment, ornamental details, or structural composition — would be a great fit. This doesn't need to be literal or clichéd; a subtle, refined nod to that heritage is just as welcome as a bolder expression of it.
Color palette:
We're keeping it strong and neutral. The palette to work within is: white, dark blue, black, yellow, orange, and red. Designers don't need to use all of them — a focused two or three-color combination will likely be more impactful. These colors should feel intentional and bold, not decorative.
Mascot:
We love our mascot, but it's dated and doesn't scale well. We'd love to see it redrawn and modernized — keeping its character, but making it clean and versatile.

Stickers for gym equipment
Event flyers
Social media
Upcoming website (could be a follow-on project for the winning designer)

The winning design needs to work across all these formats, so scalability and versatility are essential.

Attached you can find our current logo and some references we liked. We're very open to any new ideas that fit well, creativity is welcomed.

You can also find attached a sketch with the ideal layout, as well as some knives we'd like to see integrated (there needs to be 2 and crossed like on the image)
