BOSS PULSE is a free Progressive Web App (launching 31 May 2026) that lets Australian homeowners check the health of their home loan in 3 minutes. They enter their loan details, the app benchmarks against thousands of live loan products from 40+ Australian lenders, and returns a clear health rating from Poor to Elite, plus a clear next move.
It's owned by Boss Money, a Brisbane mortgage broking business with 20+ years of broker experience and over $1B in settled loans. The parent brand (Boss Money) is direct, anti-bank, numbers-forward, and unafraid to call out the loyalty tax that costs Australians thousands. BOSS PULSE inherits that DNA but as a consumer-friendly product brand.
The product brand architecture is "BOSS PULSE by Boss Money" so the logo needs to feel related to but distinct from the parent.
Target audience
Australian homeowners aged 30-55. Homeowners with a mortgage they haven't checked in years. Time-poor, mildly suspicious of banks, sceptical of brokers, but sick of the loyalty tax. They want a number, not a sales pitch.
The name
BOSS PULSE. Two words. The "PULSE" carries the metaphor (loan has a pulse, your bank stopped checking, we made it easy to check again). The brand voice: short, punchy, no corporate language, slightly contrarian.
What I want the logo to do
Communicate "live, active, monitored" — your loan is alive, has a heartbeat, and is being watched.
Feel premium and confident, not gimmicky or fintech-cliché.
Work as a wordmark with an integrated visual element. Heart-rate / ECG line through or under the wordmark is the strongest concept direction. Open to alternative interpretations of "pulse" (waveform, rhythm, signal).
Read clearly at small sizes (app icon, favicon, social media profile picture at 110x110px).
Have a horizontal lockup AND a square/icon mark version.
What I do NOT want
Generic stethoscope or medical imagery. This is a finance product, not a health app.
Heart shapes. Too soft, wrong category.
Anything that looks like a typical bank or fintech (no shields, no waves, no abstract circles).
Stock-feeling fonts. The wordmark should be custom or feel custom.
Anything that doesn't scale down to favicon size cleanly.
Brand colours (Vital Lime palette)
Primary: Lime green #CCFF00
Secondary: Black #0a0a0a
Accent: Magenta #FF006E (use sparingly for emphasis)
Tertiary support: White #FFFFFF
The logo must work in three configurations:
White wordmark on black background, with lime accent
Black wordmark on lime background
Lime wordmark on black background
Typography
The parent brand uses Barlow Condensed. The BOSS PULSE wordmark can sit in the same family OR feel slightly more modern/technical. Open to designer interpretation. Tight letter-spacing preferred. All caps preferred.
Reference / inspiration
I'm attaching a current draft concept showing the direction. The heart-rate line through the wordmark is the strongest existing element. Designers can iterate on this concept or propose entirely new directions.
What I like:
The heart-rate line literally interrupts the wordmark, making "PULSE" earn its name visually
Letterforms feel slightly tech/futuristic without being sci-fi
The white-on-black treatment with magenta line gives strong contrast
What I'd improve:
Could the heart-rate line be more anatomically accurate (sharper peaks, cleaner baseline)?
Wordmark feels slightly too wide. Could it feel a bit more compressed?
Consider variations where the line passes under the wordmark instead of through it.

One last thing
This is a real product launching to real customers in 25 days. The logo needs to do the work of a brand built over years, in 25 days. I'm looking for a designer who can move fast, iterate based on feedback, and deliver something that feels considered, not rushed.
