Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

TGP - The Gathering Place - is a startup church in the Hill Country of Texas. We are creating this club to get men together outside of the church walls. It will have a "Members Only" vibe, but will actually be open to anyone a TGP member invites.

Here's the aim for the logo:
Design a logo for the TGP Golf Club with the look and feel of an iconic early 1900’s American golf institution.

I’ve tried to add pics to capture the look we would like to see, because I’m not exactly sure how to communicate it. It should feel like it has existed for seventy years, not seventy days.
 
Every choice should serve this:
Heritage. That iconic vibe. Authentic. No distressing filters, no fake “vintage” grunge texture. Real classic design is clean.

The cross is present but never preachy.

Timeless and simple. This mark should look just as right in 2046 as in 1926. Avoid anything trendy.


Design Concepts I want to see:

A play on the Masters Tournament logo :
Keeping the elegant serif lettering arched over a single iconic silhouette; the flag-in-the-cup motif; the restrained, premium color use; the sense that nothing is wasted.

Replace the silhouette of America with an open Bible.

Also a version that uses the state shape of Texas.

Vintage “Golf Club” flag mark —
the friendly & simple flag-on-a-green motif and the approachable feel. A version that incorporates "TGP" into the flag in that iconic retro style. (See photos for inspiration).

Utilize The two existing TGP marks — These are the church's current identity and the most important constraint. The collegiate block “TGP” and the GP cross-circle monogram already exist and are in use. Find a way to integrate them into The new golf club logo.

Imagery we are open to:
* Crossed golf clubs behind or flanking the center.
* Optionally a simple border ring.
* Lion or Eagle - (think old England, royalty crest)

Color Palette:
Vintage and upscale. heritage tones — nothing neon, nothing glossy.


Two or three colors in any single version will read more classic
Navy— deep, dignified
Cream — warm off-white — never stark white
Gold — aged, antique gold — the upscale accent
Forest— the Masters green — grounding, classic, golf to the core
Crimson— muted, brick-red — the flag; use sparingly as a single pop

Recommended combination: forest green + antique gold + cream, with a single crimson flag. That trio alone will feel timeless and expensive.

Navy is a strong option as well.

Play on the Master's Logo with a refined color palette.

NEEDS:
A simplified mark — a stripped-down version that still reads clearly small, for hats, head covers, and ball markers.

Horizontal lockup (optional): a version with the emblem beside the wordmark for letterhead and wide spaces.

File formats
Vector source (AI, SVG) plus PSD & high-res PNGs with transparent backgrounds. We need it to scale from a ball marker to a banner without losing crispness.

The real-world test
Every version has to pass three checks:
Does it read clean embroidered on a hat?
Does it work one-color stamped in gold?
And at the size of a ball marker, is it still recognizable?
If yes to all three, we've got it.
