BRIEF UPDATE — IMPORTANT ADDITION: THE SEVEN PRINCIPLES
This is an update to the original brief. Please incorporate the following into your design thinking. This is not an optional detail; it is the philosophical core of the brand.

The number 777 does not represent luck. It represents our Seven Principles — a framework designed to inspire every child to live a bigger, braver and kinder life. These seven words must inform the brand at every level.
1. DREAM — Imagine what could be. Every great adventure begins with a dream.
2. EXPLORE — Ask questions. Go somewhere new. Stay curious.
3. CREATE — Build. Draw. Invent. Make. Use your imagination.
4. LEARN — Learn something every day. Learning happens everywhere.
5. HELP — Help somebody. Be kind. Lift others.
6. MAKE A DIFFERENCE — Leave every place better than you found it.
7. INSPIRE — Your adventure can inspire someone else's.
The seven words — Dream. Explore. Create. Learn. Help. Make a Difference. Inspire. — are not a tagline. They are doctrine.
Designers should consider how these principles could be woven into the identity system: as standalone typographic elements, badge icons, a visual framework that supports the main logo, or as part of the vehicle wrap, Adventure Journal and merchandise system.
The brand must carry all seven — visually, emotionally and symbolically.

BRIEF UPDATE — PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING

Hi everyone, thank you so much for the incredible interest in this project. We're genuinely excited to see what you're creating.
A designer asked a great question that reminded us we had left something important out. We want to make sure everyone has the full picture before submitting, so we're sharing two key updates here.
UPDATE 1 — THE SEVEN PRINCIPLES (Essential Brand Knowledge)

The number 777 does NOT represent luck. It represents our Seven Principles — the philosophical core of the entire brand. Every designer working on this project needs to understand them.

1. DREAM — Imagine what could be. Every great adventure begins with a dream.
2. EXPLORE — Ask questions. Go somewhere new. Stay curious.
3. CREATE — Build. Draw. Invent. Make. Use your imagination.
4. LEARN — Learn something every day. Learning happens everywhere.
5. HELP — Help somebody. Be kind. Lift others.
6. MAKE A DIFFERENCE — Leave every place better than you found it.
7. INSPIRE — Your adventure can inspire someone else's.

These aren't decorations. They are the brand's doctrine. The strongest submissions will find a way to carry these seven principles visually — whether as icons, a badge system, typographic elements, or a supporting identity framework alongside the main logo.

Our closing line is: "Seven Principles. Endless Adventures."

UPDATE 2 — VISUAL DIRECTION & COLOUR PALETTE

We realise we gave you the philosophy, but not enough visual direction. Here's what we need designers to know.

THE LOOK: Premium. Australian. Outback. Modern Expedition.

COLOUR PALETTE:
Outback Sand, Khaki, Olive, Charcoal, Burnt Orange, Leather Brown, Metallic Gold.
Accent colours used sparingly.

REFERENCE BRANDS — this is the aesthetic we're aiming for:
National Geographic, Patagonia, RM Williams, Australian Geographic, Indiana Jones, Dakar Rally, Modern Overlanding.

NOT these references:
Cartoons, Comic books, Vegas or casino styling, Superheroes, anything childish or overly corporate.

THE LOGO MUST INCLUDE:
- THE BEAST wordmark
- 777
- A compass element
- Australian influence
- Topographic / contour map styling
- Optional claw marks (used subtly — remember, The Beast is NOT about aggression)

THE LOGO MUST REPRODUCE BEAUTIFULLY ACROSS:
Vehicles, Embroidery, Caps, Shirts, Print, Digital, Stickers, Metal badges.

If your design can't work on a vehicle wrap AND be embroidered on a cap, it's not the right direction.

Our brand statement is: "Unleash the Beast. Discover Your Adventure."

When someone sees THE BEAST 777 for the first time, they should feel curiosity, excitement and a desire to start their own adventure — not intimidation, aggression, or anything casino-like.

Thank you again — we can't wait to see your work. If you have any questions, post them here, and we'll answer quickly.

The Beast 777 Adventure Team
Seven Principles. Endless Adventures.

I'll be straightforward: $150 AUD for a full branding system is not aligned with the actual scope of this work. Between research, concept development, mood boarding, revisions, and final deliverables, this is easily 15-25+ hours of professional time, and industry rates reflect that.

I'd encourage reconsidering the budget or scope for this brief. Pricing it this low doesn't just undervalue designers' time, it also limits the quality and depth of what you're likely to receive. Something to think about if the goal is a brand identity that actually holds up.

BRIEF UPDATE — SCOPE CLARIFICATION Hi everyone, We received valuable feedback from designer CS and want to be upfront about it. We've taken the feedback on board and have decided to focus this phase of the project on the core logo and brand mark. We want the wordmark, THE BEAST 777, and the visual identity foundation, something timeless, premium, and distinctly Australian that can anchor everything that comes next. You don't need to deliver a full branding system in this contest. Focus your energy on getting the logo right. The brief, the Seven Principles, the colour palette and the visual direction we shared in our earlier update all still apply; that context is just as important as ever. But the deliverable for this contest is the logo and brand mark. Thank you for your time and creativity. We look forward to your work.
