ProvenON — Identity Design Brief
We are opening a round for a new visual identity for ProvenON: the symbol, the wordmark, and the app icon, as one system from one hand.

This brief is everything you need. You do not need any other document from us.

1. What we are asking for
A complete identity system:

A symbol — works alone, at any size, as our primary mark.
A wordmark — the name set as type.
A lockup — symbol and wordmark together, horizontal and stacked.
An app icon — derived from the symbol, holding down to 16 px.
The identity has to carry the company and every product on one master brand: ProvenON, ProvenON OS (our platform), and ProvenON [Product] for individual products. Show us it extends; do not design something that only works for one of them.

2. Who ProvenON is (the register to design in)
ProvenON builds systems that let firms in regulated, judgment-heavy work — finance, healthcare, insurance — keep their own AI and show how a decision was reached. Buyers are conservative professionals whose reputation rides on being able to prove their work. The identity's job is credibility, not delight.

The idea at the centre of the brand is provenance: origin you can verify, and a record that survives scrutiny. The reference we have designed against is the hallmark — the assay mark struck into silver to certify authenticity and origin. That idea stays. How it is expressed is entirely open, and the hallmark is a starting point rather than a requirement; if you have a stronger way into provenance, bring it.

Our name is pronounced "proven-on." The root word is proven.

3. What we are replacing, and what is being retired
The current mark is a monoline "P" with a teal checkmark inside the bowl, on a deep-navy rounded tile for the app icon. It is attached.

The checkmark is being retired. That is decided, not up for debate — a check is the most-used symbol in software, it says "task complete" more than it says "verified," and it does not survive the company growing past one product.

Be clear about what that means for your work: removing the check is not a subtraction, it is a reset. Take the check out of that P and nothing is left but a plain letter. So the symbol is genuinely open — it does not have to be a "P," it does not have to be a letterform at all.

The check was doing two jobs. Whatever you propose has to do them, or make them unnecessary:

It carried the verification idea — the one thing the symbol says.
It rhymed with the teal ON in the wordmark — the visual link that made symbol and wordmark read as one family. With the check gone, that link has to be rebuilt. This is the main reason we are doing symbol and wordmark in one round instead of two.
4. The name — fixed, and why
The name is set as ProvenON — capital O, capital N. This spelling does not change, and it is the one part of the wordmark that is not open.

It is a pronunciation device, not a style choice. Set lowercase, the name reads "prove-non," which surfaces "non" — negation — in the name of a company whose whole business is establishing what is real. The capital carries the break in the characters themselves, so the name teaches its own pronunciation in a terminal, a plain-text email, a greyscale print, or a search result — everywhere that colour and type styling cannot reach.

Everything else about the wordmark is open: typeface, weight, spacing, case treatment of the rest of the name, how (or whether) colour marks the break, custom letterforms, ligatures, the relationship to the symbol. Our current setting is Inter 700 at -0.025em with ON in teal. Treat that as the incumbent to beat, not a constraint.

5. Non-negotiables
Colour — use these exact values:

Role Hex
Navy (primary) #13245a
Deep navy (tiles, dark fields) #0d1b3e
Teal (the accent) #14b8a6
Ink (body text) #1a2233
White #ffffff
Two near-miss values are banned outright because they have shipped as bugs before: teal #0f9c8f and gold #c2912f.

The palette is locked because it is already in the site, the decks and every generated document. If your concept genuinely requires a different palette, submit it — but submit it as a clearly labelled alternate alongside a version in our colours, so we can judge the form and the colour argument separately.

Form:

Flat and geometric. No bevels, drop shadows, gloss, faux-3D, photorealism.
No gradients — they mush at 16 px and print badly.
The symbol must work in one colour, and must not depend on colour to be understood.
Automatic rejections — the cliché set:

Checkmarks in any form (see §3), including ticks, swooshes, and check-in-a-circle.
Padlocks, shields, keyholes, fingerprints.
Brains, neurons, hexagon meshes, node graphs, circuit boards, glowing orbs.
A rounded box with a letter dropped into it — that reads as consumer SaaS. A tile is allowed for the app icon, but the tile has to be doing real work.
Craft:

Vector source is required. Submissions generated with AI image models are not accepted: they garble letterforms and do not produce clean, editable paths. Draw it.
Consistent stroke weights, aligned to a grid, optically centred rather than mathematically centred.
6. Deliverables
Vector master — SVG with paths outlined, no embedded rasters. Figma or AI source welcome alongside.
Symbol — on light and on deep navy, plus a one-colour version.
Wordmark — ProvenON set, on light and on deep navy.
Lockups — horizontal and stacked. Plus one extension showing the system carrying a second name: ProvenON OS or ProvenON [Product].
App icon — 1024 × 1024 PNG full-bleed, plus a size ladder at 512, 256, 128, 64, 32 and 16 px (a contact sheet at actual size is fine).
