Hi,

My name is Paulo and i would like to work with you on this project.
I do have 2 requests before committing myself on this project, which are;
-Are you willing to mark this project as guaranteed?
-A homepage sets the theme and feel of the whole website, with this in mind would you agree to approve the homepage before requesting a subpage design? This way we avoid speding a day designing a subpage that will never be accepted because of the inherent theme and feel.

Best Regards,
Paulo

Hi Paulo, and thank you for contacting us.

We can absolutely agree on the home page first, and afterwords move to the sub-home one.

At the moment we are not going to guarantee the payment because we'd like to check the overall consistency of the works with our needings even if we volountarily excluded exact content map, wireframes and detailed specifications, because we'd like the usability and design to be part of the task. But in the end we are not sure that's the right way yet ;)

Best
Giulio

Hi Giulio,

I totally understand where you comming from, but from the view of a custom designer its a bit hard to fully commit to a project without feeling the same kind of commitment from the client.
You can be assured that you will be receiving a good design due to a number of reasons, DesignCrowd haves allot of registered designers and if that not enought i can assure you that i will be working on your project until you are satisfied.
If you need any clarification and/or assurances, feel free to contact me via email: paulof.moduluswebdesign.com
We can also use Skype if you prefer.

Please note that any contacts outside of DesignCrowd are for clarification purposes only and any work will be conducted in DesignCrowd.
Please appologize me for insisting but i do fully commit to the project i get myself into so its a big deal for me.

Best Regards,
Paulo

Hi Paulo,

I understand and respect your point of view, on the other hand I cannot commit on something I didn''t even see.

Just to make it clear we are taking it serously, here is the link to our past contest of less than one month ago, where we paid 410€ on DesignCrowd for our brand new logo:

Now it''s up to you partecipate or not.

I do not want to create a discussion, but there is some points that i need to underline as a web designer who is in this industry over 10 years.

First of all, you are paying €410 for your logo design, but €570 for your website layout. Because you believe that it worths just that. But trust me, it contains more effort than you think. For just one single home page layout, sometimes we work more than 3 days.

On the other hand, in your brief, you do not make some points clear, because you want to see other people's ideas. And again, i need to say that it is not as easy as you think to design a web page without any wireframe, with just a simple brief and no websites that reflects your admiration, no reference colours. And you do not guarentee the payment and say ""himmm, we need to see something.."

So what does it mean?

You put some money in the middle of a dark room, put all designers inside, lock the door and say "Come on guys, create something for me ! And you will get the money, if you can.. Ohhh it is lots of money, come on !"

And just for a moment, just consider that you are a designer. Here is the situation :

1) You need to create something great
2) You need to do that with your very limited information.
3) You need to make it better than all other designers.
4) You need to shoot the target.
5) You need to spend lots of time for that. (Maybe 2-3 days or more)

And finally MAYBE you can earn some money if client choose a winner and if this winner is you.
And who knows, maybe he won't choose anyone.
And maybe, client can collect great ideas from all of these submissions and create his layout with just one designer who is out of here.
And as a designer...

Can you say something? NO... Do you have any rights? NO... Did you earn any money? NO...
Did you really put an effort in this project? YES! Did you spent your days for this project? YES! Did you do your best? YES !

Of course you have some points that you are clearly right.
But we have too.
Sometimes you need to see the other side's perspective.

So i am out of the contest until something changes.
And really, honestly, wish you a good luck.

Please forgive me if a overstep my limit or made you get angry or seemed unrespectful to you.

Best regards

Hi webcodex,

I totally got your point even it''s probably not directly related to the payment guarantee, but to the whole DesignCroud contest system.

In fact you are never 100% sure to receive a payment  even if you have to work in advance, spending time and effort as you mentioned before, but this kind of system it''s also the reason why me and other thousands of clients choose to open a contest here instead of going to a single designer.

For what concern our willing to assign the prize on this work, I can say you we are totally committed, because we need those pages for an upcoming event in early April, so it''s something crucial for our project.

Furthermore, if you think our brief it''s not clear or complete enough to work on it, that''s another story, in this case, please feel free to contact me with any doubt or questions.

Best
Giulio
