Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We are a new application development company and we need a logo for our new mobile application called Sofic. The name derives from a Sofic tradition, as opposed to a mantic tradition, where a shift from the oral to the written word is observed indicating a shift towards a more individually centered society with a more scientific mindset. Sofic is also a mathematical term named after the Hebrew for "finite".

Sofic is a mobile application marketplace which recommends contextually relevant applications available for download from the various app stores. Sofic aims to simplify and personalize the way you discover new apps and manage your existing applications. To achieve this, Sofic applies techniques derived from fields as diverse as statistics, genomics and machine learning in its algorithms.

The overall design should be a modern and minimal with a tech feel and should communicate reliability and intelligence. We have some initial designs for the layout and structure of the app (not presented) and color scheme of the application (see attached). We like these however we are not attached to them. We have no preference for fonts. We would like an icon either next to or incorporated into the logo, although this is not essential.

Hi all designers,

Thanks so much for all the designs submitted so far!  They have all been very well-received. 

Just wanted to post an update as we've seen the entries so far come in-we will heavily favor designs that incorporate a unique characteristic of the Sofic app, so please submit accordingly! We are looking for symbolism related to any of the dimensions of our app (please see our description for inspiration; we are happy to answer any questions you may have!).  In particular, symbolism related to genomics (if you used this, it shouldn't look like we are a biomedical company because we are not, but you could draw inspiration from the ideas of genomics...e.g., SO is sulfer oxide; you could make something related to the structure of sulfur oxide), machine learning, algorithms, statistics, and applications is welcome.
