Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

BACKGROUND:
PayUpJack is a start-up mobile-apps company based in Toronto, Canada.

-Value Proposition:-
PayUpJack is a mobile-to-mobile, money transfer system that allows university and college students to exchange and collect money between friends and relatives using credit cards, safely, and securely, when cash is not on hand.

The primary market will be university and college students that are socially active. Because they are socially active, they are planning and attending many events that requires them to "pay-up" to or collect money from friends. The Primary target market are the Millennials / Gen-Y market segment (18-24). We will then expand immediately into our secondary market, the 25-35 Market Segment.

There are many situations that exist that require friends and relatives to exchange money, using credit cards, two key situations we have defined are:
1. The ability for somebody organizing an event, to send out a notification to friends using their mobile phones, and allow their friends to enter their credit card information to make the payment.
2. The ability for a friend to pay back, or “Payup” an IOU using their credit card.

More specifically, here are some Use-Case Scenarios that might help shape your creative vision:

-The Collection-
A group of friends are taking a road trip to a music festival in another neighbouring city. The problem is, someone needs to buy all the tickets, and someone else needs to pay for the gas. Since everyone has PayUpJack, it’s pretty much a coin flip: whoever buys the tickets or drives the crew will have the funds from everyone else quickly and securely with PayUpJack.

-The IOU-
You lend your friend $40. But your friend keeps forgetting to pay you back. Since you have PayUpJack, you can send him a reminder to pay with a link to enter your credit card information. They click on the link, and pay you back, instantly and with the exact amount.

PROJECT SCOPE
The Project Scope is two-fold:
1) Logo design
2) Two characters (male and female) that would depict who a fictional character "Jack"


1) Logo Design:
Because we are a start-up, this is a fresh canvass as we do not have any particular brand guidelines to adhere to. We are looking for your interpretation considering the above market segment and the App’s purpose. So, colours are your decision based on above.

PayUpJack’s brand must reflect:
• Ease of use, because it is key for this demographic;
• Safety and Security, because we are dealing with money;
• Dependable and reliable;
- professional feel to it (as we are dealing with money) and a secure feel to it.

2) Characters
We need to depict what "Jack" looks like - a fictional character. We need a male and female version. Jack may or may not appear in the logo - that's up to you.

Jack is:
-Smart, gets all his work done
-social, likes to have a good time
-busy being social
-your coolest friend
-jack is hip
BUT...
Jack is:
-someone who forgets things
-someone who is always behind in repaying his friends/family.
