Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

I need a simple logo design that incorporates natural earth tones, and the look and feel of the website: HardPanPress.com. This should be simple enough to appear on the spine of a book as a publisher's logo. It can be comprised solely of the initials: ‘HPP’ or a variation of the letters/words, and some other element. Please note, that in this case, Pan does not mean a frying cooking pan, but is a reference to what happens to a dirt road when all the dirt has been washed away, and it has been worn down to the bare “hard pan.” I wanted the name “Dirt Road Press” but that website URL was already taken. So, the term “hard pan” is also meant as a metaphor to reflect a difficult, but hardy and simple country, rural life. I envision a curvy line somewhere in the logo signifying a dirt road in perspective (i.e. thick at one end, thin at the other). I’m also open to other images, like a simple deer, horse, pine bough, etc. Designs using clip art will not be accepted, thanks.
