Dear sir/ma'am,

Recently I participated in a design job over here. Similar to you the other client provided unclear brief and kept extending deadline because they never liked any design submission. At the end, they left feeling unsatisfied with empty hands. I am not planning to participate with my design techniqal skills but I want to participate in different manner, by educating prospective clients.
Overall, if you describe your self to an illustrator over phone, and you didn't give good description of you, don't expect them in return to draw a perfect image of you. Same say about your brief, if you have clear image of your brand , designers can provide better visualization of it. Yes! You need to provide abetter brief than this. Second, money is not everything, don't expect the bigger your budget is the better a design you will recieve. In fact many designers who are only after money may not satisfy your appetite. Also, show some dedication to your brand by making this project guaranteed. The more you give , the more you recieve.

Finally, don't write your brief with attitude, I know how frustrated you are and I understand but keep your feelings on the side.

We have a logo that we''ve been using for 10 years.  I like it - but it''s become stale, and it has elements that were very common in logos 10 years ago - features that a lot of design experts will say are overused.  I''m looking for something that hopefully (but not required) has some continuity with the old logo but presents a fresh, hip, modern feel without looking like everyone else''s logo. 

I prefer to stay with burgundy and gray but don''t have to - any ideas that are submitted in different colors do not need to be resubmitted - I get the idea of what it can look like.

If our company were an animal, we would be a duck because of a duck''s versatility in various weather.  If we were a car, we would be Range Rover for luxury off-road and city driving.  If our company were a tool, we would be a leatherman.

I don''t know what else to say to describe us - we are a small firm that is very versatile.  We are not a discount wholesaler.  We are a premium service provider.

The logo I''m looking for cannot have a lot of fine detail that gets lost when it is printed small - it needs to look good when it is small and it needs to look good when it is reduced to just 2-color.

Thank you for your patience and for the designers that are still interested, please ask questions and I will be more than happy to provide answers.  Criticism is also welcome as it will help me from making the same mistake twice.
