For several weeks my business partner and I could not decide upon a logo, then two weeks ago I had a horrendous accident and have been in hospital and recovery since.

Hi, we understand your delay on answers on the project. Hope you will be better after the accident.

About the photo4me contest, we (designers) cannot send any more projects. The time has finished, and you need to choice one. Or if you want to refresh another briefing, and receive more logos, you need to reopen the contest.
