Hello CH!
I have one question:
Does it makes sense to have a box in the icon...think when it will be printed on your boxes how it will look like...box on the box? ...To me its like a shoe manufacturer company that shows a shoe in his logo (i.e nike) OR mobile company like NOKIA use cell phone in his logo or casio use wrist watch in his logo...it seems wired... doesn't it?
I think an abstract approach is more appropriate then this one ... or letter mark logo having a feel of your product will be a best fit...just sharing my thoughts if it helps you to refine your approach and get professional logo :)
Thanks for your time,
eshtiyak
I have one answer:
We will not be printing our logo on the boxes.
The boxes we make are a blank canvas for other small businesses/bakeries who usually brand them in their own unique ways. It is very important that we leave the appearance clean with the exception of color or a special window.
Because we do not put our logo on our products, it makes the branding opportunities we have that much more precious. Hence, the need for a logo that represents our business.
This logo will pull duty at the top of our website, social media marketing portals, promotional materials, and on the case labels affixed to the corrugated packages the bakery boxes in which the actual product (bakery packaging) are shipped.
Great question. Since the core of our business is boxes, and because the logo will be presented in a medium that is segregated in different distances depending on the situation - it is absolutely appropriate that a box be in the logo. It is not, however, necessary. A logo that captures the spirit of our business may be something no one but the winning designer could have ever conceived. That's what's so great about art.
Thanks again for leveraging, not only your talent, but your thought process against our project.
Now, having written all of that, the awesomeness of this cannot be refuted http://media1.break.com/dnet/media/2010/9/24/df64d6f7-13e8-4b63-89cb-74894e52b830.jpg
Great comprehensive feedback...things are very clear now.
