Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

Freagle - The Virtual Town Square needs its logo redesigned. We’re looking for something representative of our core mission captured in a design that’s modern and not too simplistic in its elements. IMPORTANT: the design should be global in nature and not representative of the USA only.

Freagle is a non-partisan political start-up building a virtual town square to restore representation in democracy through government accountability and citizen engagement. In other words, Freagle connects the dots between politicians, money, votes, lobbyists, corruption, etc. and makes that information available to individuals and organizations interested in understanding how the system and the people within it work. It’s one thing to know how one’s elected officials vote, but it’s another thing to see who and what contributed to their vote.

So, what's in the name Freagle? It's a combination of freedom which is symbolized in America's bald eagle.

The eagle represents freedom. Living as he does on the tops of lofty mountains, amid the solitary grandeur of Nature, he has unlimited freedom, whether with strong pinions he sweeps into the valleys below, or upward into the boundless spaces beyond. In addition to the American bald eagle, Freagle's current logo also incorporates sunshine representing 'sunshine laws' without which American’s could not be guaranteed legal access to most of the meetings and information of government. Sunshine laws make meetings, records, votes, deliberations and other official actions available for public observation, participation and/or inspection. Sunshine laws also require government meetings to be held with sufficient advance notice and at times and places that are convenient and accessible to the public, with exceptions for emergency meetings.
