Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We are currently finalising a website which allows amateur and professional owners of race cars to track the running time of the car and all installed parts (drive shafts, gearbox etc.). The site is working for a technical point of view, but we need a logo (there is a separate contest for webdesign : http://designcrowd.com/job.aspx?id=505526 )

The logo should adhere to the following:

Preferably 1 color (it would be nice to be able to use it in different colors, or on different kinds of backgrounds)

please no typicial "name with outline of car on top" logos.

readable (we are no black metal band).

If you can somehow incorporate a car part like a drive shaft, or a gear of a sequential gearbox, (NOT a gear stick or H pattern image, we are talking about internals here ), or a crankshaft or other engine part, that would be great too.
