Would you say you are more interested in active and adventurous kayakers and cyclists (weekend warrior style), or do you want to appeal more to the relaxed peaceful paddlers and riders.

Regards

Brendan

That is such a great question! I see you point about how the logo would appeal differently to each demographic.

I''d say that most people who come to us are in it for the peaceful, nature loving experience. They are ''active'' because they like using their own muscle power to enjoy their time in nature (these are not the people who enjoy motor boats and jet skis are the bane of their existence). Peaceful, quiet, calm waters, beautiful scenery, while physically active is what they seek.

Thank you for that great question. I look forward to your submission.

Hi there, interested in developing a concept for your logo, of the words "Kayak(Bike) Lake Powell" which one gets the attention, or they are equal part of the name?

Kind regards,

von Besitzer des Projektes am Sonntag, 23. September 2012

Great question. I''d say that it''s okay if both get same attention, but if the logo works best with one getting more attention I''d definitely say the "Kayak"over the "Bike" (if they are together). Or if you mean between the "kayak/bike" and "Lake Powell"- I''d say it would be Lake Powell.

But we are really open to suggestions. I''ve seen designs so far that have kayak & bike small next to a large Lake Powell and that looks great. I''ve seen designs with equal Kayak Lake Powell and they look great too.

We really do appreciate any submissions you send in. Thank you.

Thank you for the feedback, I just submitted my proposals.
Kind Regards,

Hi - as far as I'm aware, designers cannot see each others submissions as you mention in your brief. This would make it a little unfair if a designer steals and slightly amends another designers concept. If I am wrong and we can see each others submissions, please let me know.
Thanks!
Andrea

No. You can't see another designers concepts during a live job. Having said that....
I did see a brief recently for a live job where the client had updated the brief with a link to a designers concept, saying 'how much the client liked this design'. Bet that designer was happy!!!

I didn''t realize designers can''t see what each other is doing. That makes all the sense in the world. No wonder designers don''t get what we''re after. I just assumed designers see what is appealing to us and go in that direction.

Can you tell what''s being eliminated?

von Andrea Willmore am Dienstag, 25. September 2012

No - we can't see any feedback other than our own. This does make it fair though. If you want to show us logos that you like, you need to show logos that are already out there in the world and on the web to view (you did show 3 examples).

Andrea,

I want to thank you for this information. Being under the assumption that you can see what we liked and didn''t like made us think we''d didn''t have to be too specific in our feedback. Now it''s all making sense. I gave three examples of what we liked but I''ve removed them from my brief because we got designs that matched those logos but weren''t really for our area.

Of course it makes sense you can''t see what''s being submitted. The problem: Our guide likes the logos that play up the beauty of the landscape here which is rusty red and more elegant/subtle designs that look great on our website but I like the ones that are scream our name- oh, he hates those logos (he hates our current logo). We are NOT going with one that screams our name so we are eliminating all the logos that are not evoking the beauty of our area, that are not upscale or at least can be tweaked to be more upscale Yes, it''s been a process to try to give enough direction to get where we want because it''s all so subjective!

Sorry for the rambling.
