Grafik-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We are developing a series of educational DVD’s for teachers of children in Grades 1 – 7. The series focuses on language / literacy development. The primary purpose of the DVD’s is to improve teacher knowledge. These DVD’s are one element of a larger project that is being implemented in underperforming schools in Gauteng, South Africa.

The themes / titles for the current series are:

1. Classroom Environment
2. Classroom Management
3. Managing Materials
4. Weekly Routines
5. English Phonics & Spelling
6. Listening & Speaking
7. Shared Reading
8. Group Reading
9. Comprehension
10. Process Writing
11. Marking & Assessment
12. Extension & Enrichment

We are looking for the following:

A static logo for our brand - ‘Knowledge Tree’. We may want to animate the logo at a later date, so please keep this in mind.

An A4 booklet/workbook cover that will accompany each DVD title.

A DVD box cover.

A DVD label.

The graphic for an ‘I (heart) School’ section. Again, we may want to animate this graphic at a later date.

Everything should be full colour, but the ‘Knowledge Tree’ logo should work in both black & white and colour. Ideally, we would like some design element to differentiate the various titles and/or the two phases (Foundation Phase, Grades 1-3, children aged 7–9) (Intersen Phase, Grades 4-7, children aged 10-13).

The key characteristics of the brand:

Friendly, conversational, talks to teachers directly.
Aspirational (but based on the context i.e. marginalized schools).
Motivating, inspiring, positive.
Possibly theme based.
Key words: grow, share, skill, learn, fun, creative.
Remember, although this is a primary education project, these DVD’s are targeted at teachers / adults.
