DESCRIPTION OF THE BUSINESS
Hospice care focuses on bringing comfort, self-respect, and tranquility to seriously ill individuals who are in the final stages of their life. The hospice philosophy is that the end of life should be a human experience, rather than medical experience. It is about quality of life, and as such hospice care focuses on providing physical, psychological, spiritual and emotional comfort to the patient, their family, and their loved ones.
The hospice team of professionals is multidisciplinary; it includes not only physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, care givers, and other required healthcare specialists, but also social workers, psychologists, and pastoral care professionals, i.e. priests, pastors, rabbis, imams, and other members of the clergy.
While most hospices are residential facilities designed for patients to live (and die) there, "CompCare Hospice" is special in that it was established to allow the patients to remain in the comfort of their homes, living with their family and loved ones, and still getting the medical care and support they require.
