Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

Manakuni will be a mobile (phone/tablet) application which helps ESL (English as a Second Language) students and travelers learn English. It will also give the application user information about a particular city (like a travel guide).

The initial target audience is Asian (Japanese/Korean/Chinese) and aged 12 - 30. They will likely already know a little English. They may know very little of American/UK culture. They are curious about the world and like to (or wish to) travel to places such as San Francisco, New York and London.

We like the concept of a "coat of arms" similar to those used for universities or family crests. The idea is to convey the concept of learning and friendly, interpersonal communication in a travel/tourist setting.

The logo concept should be friendly but not inappropriate for use in a business setting.

There should be logo concepts both with and with and without the word Manakuni incorporated.

The logo should not have an obvious USA identity and should appeal to people worldwide.

Subelements such as travel icons (airplane, restaurant, etc.) are ok.

The design should be clean and modern in look.

We prefer to not have sharp edges in the design. Not a hard requirement.

The design should not have 3D, drop shadows or reflections.

Unlike many real coat of arms, the design should not be ornate.

We will need recognizable versions with sizes ranging from 29x29 to 768x1024.

Given that the application is partly about learning English the colors red, white, and blue can be considered as a starting point but are not absolutely necessary.

I like earth tones, however, there is no current color scheme that you need to match.

Abstract images are preferred over detailed ones.

The design should look good on black or white backgrounds (application splash screen)

The design must not resemble any existing trademark.
