We need a logo design for "Institute Boutique" which is a boutique clothing and homeware store based on the northern beaches of Sydney Australia.
Background to who we are:
We have been trading from our store for approximately 12 months, and have a good local customer following but are now going online to help scale our business.
As such we are rebranding and changing our name from "Institute Clothing & Homeware" to "Institute Boutique" and we want to develop a simple but effective logo for our online store, are own "Institute" products, social media sites, business cards, packaging and stationary etc.
Our philosophy is to source quality unique products from non mainstream suppliers and designers. We have a focus on sourcing from local talented designers and suppliers to promote their wares and typically they are one-offs and as a result are very unique. Our product range includes clothing, homewares (mainly pillows, towels, rugs, bedding, lamp shades and artwork etc) that are unique in nature but vary between influences of being modern and edgy to modern with an ethnic touch, vintage, organic, coastal, casual yet stylish.
We are also embarking on designing and labelling our own clothing and homeware range. The label of our product range will leverage of the ultimate logo developed but may be simply "Institute Clothing" or "Institute Homeware".
Our products are targeted at mainly women from 18 to 45. Our main customers at the moment are in the 35 - 45 age bracket and income wise being mostly of a middle - upper class demographic. ie. they have discretionary income. Although their lives are busy with work or kids they want to express themselves and have a talking point. With moving online we expect our target market to move to the 30 - 45 age bracket. We do stock some mens clothing but at the moment this is to merely supplement the women of the houses purchase. With moving online we may look to increase the mens range.
I have attached a photo and the font of the current "Institute" logo for your information. I really like the font we have used as it tries to express we are a shop full of unique products. In the photo I also like the wooden panelling behind the "Institute" name as it tries to express we are a modern brand, but with ethnic, organic, vintage and coastal overtones.
My preference is to use this font in the new logo encompassing the word Boutique, but I am also very open to any new creative ideas on font and style that anyone has!
As we principally sell clothing and homewares the logo could consider encompassing this wording into the logo as well.
I think I have written way to much (!), but feel free to ask me anymore questions you may have.
