Web-Design Kurzbeschreibung

Freeform Fabrication Labs, LLC (also known as F3-Labs) is a company which provides 3D printing services and products. The emphasis is on making these products and services available to the mass-market - customers and users who may or may not have prior experience with 3D printing and/or rapid prototyping technologies. We are a start-up company, looking to build a clean and creativity inspiring brand - our site must encourage visitor to engage and make something. Our aim is to help take mere ideas and turn them into tangible items. We want to show a fusion of ideas (e.g. pencil sketches on graph paper) with design tools (e.g. CAD and drafting software) and rapid prototyping (e.g. RepRap 3D printers, Stereolithography Machines, etc.). We would like the website to appear professional but at the same time easy to navigate and a good balance between text and pictures. The final design should inspire customers to nurture their ideas into real products and communicate our services to our customers. Our site should have the feel of a vibrant social community with the added benefit of tangible physical creations.

Anforderungen

Muss haben

• - Website design should include 2 layouts - one for a "landing page" and one for a "content page"
  - Website design must incorporate attached company logo (or derivative of this logo)
  - Website design should incorporate the menu options shown in the attached PDF UI concept (UI does not necessarily need to look like the provided concept, just include all the clickable elements)
  - Website design must portray an innovative and cooperative design environment with a look-and-feel that appeals to both amateur and professional designers.
  - Please include pictures, illustrations and photographs (as needed) related to 3D printing, CAD design, conventional drafting, engineering and manufacturing industries.
  - Design should support scaling to multiple screen sizes, from tablet computers (e.g. iPad) to very large screen PCs.
  - Design should include Username & Password fields for login or a button to pull up a login popup.

Schön zu haben

• - Website design could include "Invent", "Make", "Produce" and "Buy" options that slowly cycle through - with appropriate photos / graphics. These "menu options" would also be mouse-over enabled to switch into the appropriate context as the cursor enters that region (e.g. mouse over the "Invent" text would bring up page 2, etc.). (See attached Original UI Thoughts)

• Requirements - Should Not Have:
  - Website design should not portray a service that is very expensive or complicated - we are a reasonably priced service meant to be friendly with amateur inventors
  - Website design should not be overly complicated - please keep it reasonably simple
  - Website design should not be overly trendy
  - Website design should not use more than 2 font styles, gaudy fonts, etc.
  - Website design should not be "campy" or "tacky" - playful is ok, but please keep it elegant
  - Website design should not be overly masculine or feminine - we will have both women and men as customers
