Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

Our research laboratory needs a logo - we are based within a university in Australia and are looking for some branding.

The brief is to design a logo for the "TrEnD" laboratory - which is an acronym for; Trace & Environmental DNA.

Check out http://trendlab.com.au - the logo on this page is one I designed (made out of fossils) but we need something cleaner and more modern with well integrated text and graphics.

The brief requires the logo to contain the acronym TrEnD and the text "Trace & Environmental DNA" at the bottom of the logo.

Our laboratory uses DNA in a variety of applications from ancient DNA (i.e DNA from Fossils) to DNA barcoding (which involves identifying species from their genetic code) - an absolute necessity is a double helix. And I kind of envisage the helix blending into the TrEnD acronym.

I am open to various colour schemes - it would be nice to have the logo that can be used on both light and dark backgrounds. I am open to new ideas but like some as concepts;
